To Be announced

The Prison Meditation Ministry is dedicated to bringing the transformative power of meditation to incarcerated individuals. Our mission is to create a safe and supportive environment for inmates to explore their thoughts and feelings, develop self-awareness and compassion, and cultivate inner peace and well-being. Guided by Brother Hank Wilson, a highly experienced Teacher and Minister of Meditation at the Assembly Of Self Inquiry Meditation, we are committed to offering a high-quality program that can positively impact the lives of those we serve.

Research has shown that regular meditation can have a multitude of benefits for incarcerated individuals, including:

  1. Reduced stress and anxiety: Regular meditation practice has been shown to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, which are common among incarcerated individuals.
  2. Improved mental health: Meditation has been linked to improvements in mental health, including a reduction in symptoms of depression and PTSD.
  3. Improved impulse control and emotional regulation: Regular meditation practice has been shown to improve the ability to regulate emotions and impulses, which is a valuable skill for individuals who may struggle with impulsivity.
  4. Reduced aggression and violent behavior: Meditation has been shown to reduce aggressive and violent behavior, making it a valuable tool for rehabilitation and reducing recidivism rates.
  5. Improved overall well-being: Regular meditation practice has been linked to increased self-awareness, improved relationships with others, and increased sense of purpose and meaning.

Our curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to meditation that meets the unique needs of incarcerated individuals. The program includes:

  1. Introduction to meditation and its benefits
  2. Mindfulness and breathwork exercises
  3. Developing emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  4. Cultivating compassion and empathy towards oneself and others
  5. Techniques for managing stress, anxiety, and trauma
  6. Building resilience and personal growth

We envision a program that will provide the tools necessary for individuals to make positive changes in their lives, even while they are incarcerated. Through the practice of meditation, we hope to empower participants to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them, and to find new paths forward.

We are currently compiling a list of individuals who are interested in volunteering for our program when we are ready to launch. Whether you have experience leading meditation sessions or are simply passionate about the cause, we welcome all those who are interested in helping us make a positive impact in the world.

When the time comes, we will partner with interested prisons to begin offering our program. We know there will be costs associated with running the program, and we humbly ask for your support in raising the necessary funds. Your donations will help us cover the costs of training, materials, transportation, and other expenses that go into having a successful program. As a non-profit, all donations are tax-deductible.

Together, we can create a better world for those who need it most. Thank you for your support.
